Principal's Column -
March 10,
2010
Dear
Parents and Guardians:
I would like to personally extend an
invitation to you to attend our annual Open House
celebration scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday evening,
March 11, from 5:30-7:00pm. Open House provides an
opportunity for our students and staff to highlight the
activities, projects, and learning environments that
make up the outstanding academic program here at Carl
Sundahl. We are very proud of our students, staff, and
school. Parents, friends, family members, and the
community are invited to join us in celebrating the
accomplishments and quality work of our students. It is
a great opportunity for parents and guardians to visit
this year’s classroom and to preview classrooms and
grade level curriculum for the coming year. There will
not be a general meeting of parents in the multipurpose
room this year. All classrooms and Computer Lab will be
open from 5:30-7:00pm. The Sundahl PTA will again host a
dessert social selling a variety of donated sweets in
the multi from 6 to 7pm. I am looking forward to
visiting with you while touring classrooms on the
evening of March 11th. Please make every effort to join
us! March 11 will be a minimum day (8:25-1:31) for all
1st-5th grade students. ALL KINDERGARTENERS WILL BE ON
ALL EARLY SCHEDULE (8:25-12:06). Thank you for noting
this change from our previous Dateline.
Our 2nd -5th grade students will be participating in the
California Testing and Reporting Program (STAR- CSTs)
from April 7-23rd . Please check your calendars to
insure that your students are here at school, all day,
during those dates. Rescheduling doctor or dentist
appointments insure that your child is in class during
these very important testing times. Thank you for
marking your calendars now and making any arrangements
necessary.
Parents, guardians, and community members are always
encouraged to contact the school with any comments,
concerns or other information. The school office phone
number is 989-9182. And my email address at school is
dchays@fcusd.org.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of our programs
and activities.
You Are Invited To A Folsom Community Information Night
March 23 – Folsom Middle School 6:00-7:30
This is not a district budget meeting. This is a Folsom
community meeting to help inform Folsom on how we can
make a difference in education funding. Please come hear
students, parents and teachers speak, hear the Folsom
Bands play and watch video interviews with students.
There will also be an Art Show from Folsom Middle on
presentation and the Folsom High School ACA DECA winner
will be speaking. Information on how to contact
legislators and assembly members will be available. This
meeting is supported bySupportCAKids.org
Sincerely,
Donna Chulos Hays
