Mr. Yohner's school life

  Wrestling Career:

Mr. Yohner wrestled for 8 years. He started in middle school and ended in his sophomore year in college.(That's 7 years!)  He is now the coach for the Sutter Wrestling team.  He has been ever since the school had a team.  One of the biggest thing that he looks for in a wrestler is their desire because he can teach them the rest.  Remember Wrestlers, try-outs begin on December 1st.

Mr. Yonher went to 12 schools by the time he graduated from High School. He's always wanted to be a teacher even when he was younger Mr. Yonher. loved all 3 of his middle schools – Utterback and Fickett in Tucson and Johnson. He graduated from University of Pacific.

Mr. Yonher started teaching because he finally could afford it when he was 40.  Today, he teaches 7th  grade – World Cultures at Sutter.

His first year teaching was the same year Shelbey Miller was in 8th grade, 1991. "There’s too many good memories to pick just one and the best part of teaching is watching kids learn", Mr. Yonher says.

He's taught every subject and every grade and Mr. Yohner's picked what he likes best so he wouldn’t really want to teach anything else.

He's also taught at Greer Elementary, Herbert Green Middle and Franklin High.
