Mrs. Linsley teaches 7th grade Life Science and
8th grade Physical Science. She has been teaching for 10 years plus 5 years
working with other math and science teachers in schools all over Massachusetts.
She has taught at many different schools including
6th, 7th, and
8th grade math at Munich International School. Also a combined 7th and 8th
grade class of math, science, and technology in Massachusetts. Lastly, 7th
and 8th grade science in New York. She likes the unpredictability about teaching.
She believes that everyday is different and there are always ways to change
what you do. She loves to teach middle school because she believes
middle school students are interested in everything and that they are
emerging as young adults with different talents and great personalities. She
actually only started thinking about being a teacher in college. She started
teaching because, she wanted a job that would make a difference in the
world, and she wanted to feel proud of herself at the end of the day. One good memory she had from teaching is
when her students in New York City made a video for her, to say goodbye. It really touched her that she made a difference in their life. She believes
everyday brings new memories and things to smile about and that is another
reason she loves teaching. If she could
teach any other subject she would teach
math because so many kids hate it but it is so important for their future. |

Mrs. Linsley was born
in New Jersey but raised in Beverly, Massachusetts. When she was a kid she wanted to be
the president of the United States.
Mrs. Linsley hated Middle
School as a kid because her best friends started hanging around with other
people and all of the sudden what clothes you wore defined if you were
cool or not. Mr. Linsley
attended Harvard University. During the weekends Mrs. Linsley usually visits
new places, goes on bike rides, reads,
sleeps, and grade papers.
Mrs. Linsley loves to travel because she always used to go on trips with
her family. Also when she taught in Germany she met kids from all over the
world who inspired her to want to see new places. One of her longest
travels was when after she left Germany she took a round the world trip
for five months. Also three years ago her and her sister rode their
bicycles across the US. She loved to see everyday Americans, see where our
food comes from, and experience small town America. She loves being able
to see new places, meet new people and try new food. She believes
traveling makes you appreciate your own home and family, but also teaches
you respect for other people and cultures because there is so much to
learn from other people and traveling gives you that opportunity. If she could go anywhere in the world she
would got to either Machu Picchu in Peru, Kilimanjaro in Kenya, South
Africa, or Antarctica. Her hobbies are biking, reading, traveling, and
scuba diving. Mrs. Linsley has three lizards, and three hermit crabs in my
classroom. Her only children are here at Sutter. |
