Background Info
Mrs. Freitas was born in Salinas,
California, and raised in the nearby city of Carmichael. Growing up, she
wanted to be an architect, artist, ,or a neurosurgeon. She went to college
at University of Kansas and Sacramento State. She did not always want to be
a teacher, but now enjoys it. |

Teaching
Mrs. Freitas started teaching when
her junior high Spanish
teacher underwent surgery and a student was able to teach. She took the
opportunity and enjoyed it. Another factor is that she enjoyed working with
kids when she volunteered when her kids were young. She teaches 8th grade
algebra, geometry, and science. She enjoys interacting with the students and
helping them understand concepts. Her best memory is when all of her
students wrote a letter of thanks to her after first year. If she could
teach anything else it would be art, because drawing is fun and everyone can
do it. Prior to teaching at Sutter she taught at Arden Middle School, Folsom
Middle School, and still teaches summer school at Folsom High School.
