Student Book Review          updated 2/14/2007              page 1

The Girls by Amy Goldman Koss

This book is about a group of girls.  Candace is like the "leader". She decides that Maya, Renee, and Brianna may not be worthy to keep in the group.  (Courtney 6th grade)

A Dog's Life by Ann M. Martin

I liked this book because it was put in the words of a dog and it kept my interest.  It also taught me about family and loneliness.  (Jocelyn 7th grade)

The Wish List by Eion Colfer

"The Wish List" is interesting in the way that it deals with heaven and hell, so it presents an interesting idea about religion.  (William 8th grade)

The Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater-
Rhodes

Why I liked it:  the plot never got boring and the characters really come alive.,  I only wish she'd write a sequel.  (Alexis 8th grade)

Dark Waters by Catherine MacPhail

Dark Waters is a really adventurous book.  It's really suspenseful and just feels like you're in the book, it totally drags you in!  I totally recommend this book to anyone,  even if you don't like to read because it bores you!  But this book drags you in from the start.  (Whitney 7th grade)

Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech

I liked the book because it was exciting.  It was a little sad, sneaky, and brave.  I liked how the twins know when each other is in danger.  (Kayla 7th grade)

Crispin by Avi

I liked reading the book because it was adventurous and it was a book where you couldn't stop reading and can't wait to read on.  (Anunya 7th grade)

  Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander

I liked this book because I like time traveling books.  (Brandon 8th grade)

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

It was my favorite book because it was about: swords, magic and creatures, which are my favorite kinds of books.  I liked the book a lot.  (Josh 8th grade)

Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards

I didn't like the book because it had a lot of sad moments in it.  I did like it because all of the characters in the book are explained very well, and there is really no bad people in the story.  (London 7th grade)

Olive's Ocean by Kevin Henkes

This story was very interesting.  It tells a tragic, yet touching tale of a young girl getting over the loss of her classmate. (Mimi 8th grade)
