Receive Press Releases, Media Advisories, and More

eNews

The district strives to keep all community stakeholders informed; eNews is our most comprehensive form of external communication. Each month, the Public Relations Office produces a newsletter of interest that is distributed to district staff, parents, and community members.

Signing up for eNews will also ensure that you receive breaking news from the district office. Due to the number and time-sensitive nature of media releases produced by the district, we ask that members of the media assigned to cover the Folsom Cordova Unified School District and/or other interested parties register to receive eNews.

Social Media
You are also encouraged to take advantage our efforts to communicate through social media and follow the district through www.twitter.com/fcusd

Media Logistics

The Folsom Cordova Unified School District enjoys a positive working relationship with members of the media.  To that end, the District requests that the media contact the Public Relations Office at 355-1111 x123 or email Public Information Officer Stephen Nichols at snichols@fcusd.org prior to contacting a District department or school to arrange interviews with department and/or school officials.

When your news organization wants to cover an event or write/film on location it is best to contact us ahead of time so that we can best accommodate your request and ensure that your organization gets the best access to assist you in preparing for your stories.

Media Decorum and the FCUSD Culture
The top priorities of our schools are to provide our students a quality education and ensure their safety.  The District respects the freedom of speech of the media, and asks that the media respect our students and not interrupt their education or invade their privacy.

  • Please check in at the school's front office when you arrive at their campus for an interview.

    • Our students' parents have the right not to allow their child to be interviewed by the media and can opt not to have their photograph, image, or name published in order to protect their child's identity or safety.  For this reason, please work with the schools' principals on the photo and media releases of students involved in a particular story.

Our school and department employees are hard at work making our schools and district better places of education for our students, and through working with the PR Office, representatives of the media will have one place to contact to efficiently schedule interviews with a wide variety of individuals who can help make your stories factual and interesting.
