Folsom Cordova Education Foundation seeks volunteers to assist with fundraising,
events, and publicity
Over the last five months, the 16 board members of the Folsom Cordova Education Foundation (FCEF) have been hard at work developing a sustainable organization that will provided much-needed resources to the students of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD).
The FCEF raises money to support the students, programs and future of the FCUSD. The FCEF was formed with a mission to support innovative or existing programs that provide opportunities to prepare FCUSD students to succeed in a global society. Through productive partnerships and financial support from businesses, private donors, and the community, FCEF’s resources support educational opportunities that are observable, definable, and that inspire and motivate our students.
The FCEF is working to provide individual donors and businesses with primary channels for giving and targets the following areas for support:
Educational Enrichment Scholarships to support graduating seniors’ postsecondary education and training and educational field trips for existing students.
Innovation Grants to assist teachers in providing innovative and enriching activities and programs.
General Fund Recovery Support to provide funds to the FCUSD for designated educational programs at risk of losing funding due to unprecedented state budget reductions. For 2010, the FCEF is designating this funding toward keeping all of the district’s K-12 libraries open for the 2010-11 school year.
The FCEF is seeking volunteers to assist in fundraising, events, and public relations. Specifically, the FCEF is holding fundraisers on the upcoming dates:
March 1st-7th | Kickoff for school library fundraiser: In addition to volunteers, the FCEF is seeking donations from businesses willing to donate a portion of their proceeds generating during the week of March 1st-7th.
May 7th | Links for Learning Golf Tournament: This fundraiser will be held at Mather Golf Course.
